Waterton - Lineham Ridge

We were able to convince Jay and Sharon to continue loving hiking and spent the weekend in Waterton with them. We were able to check out the two other hikes on our "Waterton To Do" list. If you ever have the chance to spend some time in Waterton, these are two amazing hikes.

A meadow just before the up.

Our route up.

Heady and I at the start of the ridge.

We took a little side trip up towards Lineham peak. Pretty rugged terrain.

Looking back along our route.

The wind was howling!!!

I can't remember the name of these lakes, but the valley is totally isloated. Would be an amazing camp site if the descent wasn't so rediculous.

Amazing views.

Jay and I on the descent.

You can see Heather and Sharon as tiny figures in the foreground. Makes you feel a little insignificant.

Waterton - Crypt Lake

On the Sunday, we embarked on the Waterton classic, Crypt Lake. We made sure we were the first off the boat and, despite other people, we felt relatively isolated for the day.

View from the boat ride across Waterton lake to start the day.

One of the many waterfalls on the hike. Heather had a hayday!

Crypt lake is just above this headwall. Looks relatively impassible.

It's tough to see, but there's a hole in the wall that we had to squeeze through to get to the lake.

Luckily, a ladder was provided.

The view through the other side.
Sharon shares Heather's insane desire to swin in glaical lakes.

I got Jay hooked on the trowing rocks at rocks game.

Heady on the descent.

Northover Ridge - Part 1

Heady and I have also wanted to do this trip and thank to Aric, Jen, Sharon, and Jay, we made it happen this year. It was mind-boggling to be in such a beautiful location. The scenery was stunning and company was fantastic. I have to commend Jay and Sharon on this, their first hiking trip, as it was quite intense at some points. We even got to do a little mountaineering route up Warrior mountain. What a trip...
