Kibale NP and Muchison Falls NP

We continued north and stayed for a few days in Kibale NP.

Heather must have spent about 2 hours tracking this agama lizard.

Some eucalyptus trees on our "swamp walk." Yee hah.

The following day was quite an experience and we got to spend an entire day with a troop of chimps in the forest. I was in heaven!

This guy sat about 10 ft from us and ate. He really didn't seem to mind we were there.

From Kibale, we travelled further north to Murchison Falls NP.

I think this is my favourite picture from the trip. The animals in the foreground are Uganda cobs and are the other animal on the national emblem.

A lioness just about to leave for a hunt.

This male was getting a head start.

Such a cool animal. The were almost prehistoric looking when they walked.

The Nile River flows out of Lake Victoria and travels north through Uganda. These pics were taken on a boat trip up the nile to Murchison Falls.

The sea eagles perch above the hippos cause the fish eat hippo poo.

Murchison falls.
Yes, Heather stalked this lizard for about 2 hrs as well.

A fitting end to an unforgettable trip. We were ready to start working at the end of the 2 weeks and step outside the cover of the tourist blanket.

Tent Ridge Finale

This was the last day of an unbelievable ski season.

Reasons I hate Paddy and Karl...

Heady on the ascent. Last ever!

Puff? End of April?

Love the spring snow. I was actually a little fluffy near the top, but we found the snot lower down.

Spray Lake in the background.

Thanks for all the snow!

1st Annual Burstall BBQ

I don't know whose brilliant idea this was, but the Burstall BBQ was born this weekend! Couldn't have been a more perfect day, despite a fridgid Calgary start. Big thanks to Karl for his habachi transport. I never thought this is how we would spend Easter weekend...

Despite the slog in, Burstall Pass has to be one of the more scenic points in K-Country.

Jen wanted in on some of the sausage action. Don't tell Storky.

Thinking we may try to sell this one to Big Rock. Notice the lack of veggie options... interesting isn't it...

Can't have a BBQ without a disk-yo.

Like a cat Dowling.

1 beer + big slog + hot sunny day + altitude = poor skiing skills

Heather needed help finishing the beer (notice that Skoki is drunk in the background).

Whose stupid idea was this anyway.

Dumb.

The complete opposite of packing light.

Some of Heady's last turns before the ACL repair.

Not so bad for April.

Hawaii - Part 1

Due to a recent knee injury and her lack of ACL, Heather had to sadly turn down the ski trip this year. As a consolation prize, she and Ash went to Hawaii! Heather will have to fill in the picture captions later. For now, enjoy the pictures.
