Haig with a view

After two separate failed attempt at the view on the Haig last year, thought we should try again. Jo promised that I wasn't going to be sore after the long tour... she lied.

Karl making his way up the French.

Jo in hot pursuit.

Karl and I had our doubts about the visibilty on the Haig, Jo was a little more optimistic.

Boot packing up the col to the Robertson.

We should have listened to Jo, the view was spectacular!

Pretty alright turns for April on the way down.

They just finished kissing.

Man Day 09

We don't completely understand what the day entails, but it was decided that a random day in March shall become Man Day. Quinn hung out with all the ladies at his baby shower and the men got a chance to be men. Janny, Manks, Karl and myself were treated to a less than average day of skiing but some great man time. We think that this will now become a quarterly holiday.

Karl just farted. It stank of man.

Rocks, ice and snow = manly.

Manversation: Big rock eh... yup, sure is... sweet.

We love Man Day!

Quinn is smiling!

Marine Biology 101.

We're pretty sure that it's not just gas...

We think that he's going to be quite the charmer.

Another attempt...

We thought that we'd give the nude photos another try.  This time he only peed on Heady, no poop.  Progress...

Our little man

Well it's been a pretty amazing first week home with Quinn.  Despite possibly altering his retinal development with a flash, he's fitting in perfectly.  We couldn't have asked for a greater son (holding my breath...).  I have posted a few photos below, but check out the picasa web album if you want to see more.  The link is also on the sidebar.

A rare instance with his eyes open.

Rare moment with her eyes closed.

Best part about this photo is that he is just about to take a huge poo on me.  Serves us right!

Getting a good look at mom.

Sears catalogue here we come.

Spending some QT with his aunt.

Proud grandparents.

Quinn

The little guy finally decided to make an appearance yesterday morning at 3 am. Heather was amazing and only laboured for 6 hrs to bring him into the world. He's a fantastic little guy and is currently passed out in my arms as I type with one hand. Let's hope he sleeps tonight so Heady can get some rest. I can't wait for you all to meet him. He will probably be one of the most photographed babies in history. Here is the first of many...

sleddin heavin

I think I've got the HD figured out now... quick vid from Powder Cowboys a couple of weeks ago. I think the turns were some of the best in the east kootenays that weekend. Despite the slim pickings, it was pretty alright.

Long overdue vid - blue birds

Finally got some time to edit the videos from a trip to the pass with Karl and Jo. We got a new video camera for the "baby", so I thought I'd take some test footage... Still working on the best output settings.
Probably should have called the video 'Ode to Kiwi.' Jo is rippin this year!

Last ski shots for a while

Been a little busy the past while and haven't been able to post photos in a while. Here are a few from various trips over the past month. Maybe the last turns a have for a couple of months... clerkship + baby = no turns.

View of Mount Donald on run from Ursus trees.

Jo reaching the top of the ridge above Urses.

Kiwi sighting...

Blue bird day on NRC.

Got down to Fernie to ski with Manks, Al, and Bob. Rockstar extraordinaire!

We had a crazy inversion that day. Made for some cool scenery.

Lunch at the top of Powder Cowboys.

Amazing inversion over the valley. Still working on video. Hopefully I'll post something soon.

37 1/2 weeks and counting....

Here are a few pics that Kip took last week.  The "enfant" shirt is one that my mom wore when she was pregnant with me!

Christmas in Canmore

Well, better late than never...  We had an amazing Christmas up in Canmore with the entire family.  Heady and I were so grateful that both our families made the long trip west.  Hopefully we can convince them to come every year!

Despite the cold, we were able to get out and spend some time in the mountains.

Ash moved into Heady's poof (it doesn't fit over the belly anymore...)

Classic Canadiana.  Ian hadn't been on skates in years but still had the touch.

Almost total eclipse of the sun.

The view from our deck in Silver Tip.

My personal new favorite!  Couldn't quite balance a beer bottle, but you can't have everything.

Getting schooled on the toboggan hill.  Couldn't figure out why I was so sore until I saw these shots.

Moms.

Dads.

Matt and Chels came up to visit as well.  Despite the good times, we didn't managed to convince them to move to Cowtown.  Still working on that one.

The whole crew at Christmas dinner.  Thanks for the great memories.

Cityscape

It has been pretty cold here in Calgary for the last few weeks. This is a shot from a night out with my cousin, Meg, in -25C weather.
